Melissa
Melissa is our Artistic Director, and founder of A Style A Head.
Melissa started her hair journey in Kalamunda where she did her apprenticeship, also working in NSW for a couple of years, before returning home.
A Style A Head was established in 2009, when Melissa felt the need to work around her growing family. Friends and Family who enjoyed coming to a quiet private salon space away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life soon grow into many clients from all over Perth.
Since then it has grown from strength to strength, from Lesmurdie to High Wycombe, Maida Vale and now located in Gooseberry Hill, Clients coming from many Perth locations this Hills Boutique Salon offers many hair services including Cutting, Foiling, Colours, Creative Colours, Bridal Hair, & Styling, all while being a part of the Sustainable Salon program recycling over 95% of our waste.
Having been in the industry for since 1997 it has been amazing to share with clients their different milestones, watching changing fashion, developing new techniques, and growing as a person.
Emily
Emily joined the team with the expansion to our new space as our receptionist in 2025, she now is our Front of House Manager.
She will be the friendly face to greet you and the voice on the other end of the phone when you call.
Emily loves meeting new people and helping make sure each client has a relaxing and enjoyable experience the moment you step through the doors. Whether you need help making a booking or have a question, she is here to help.
Emily is also a Hills girl so some of you may already of seen her around the place.
Sarah
Sarah one of our Master Stylists, has been hairdressing for 30 plus years. She enjoys all aspects of hair including perming.
Over the years Sarah has travelled a lot with her Husband having 3 beautiful Children together, along the way, who have grown up fast.
Although they have travelled, moved around and renovated a few houses over the time, Sarah and her family have been settled in Kalamunda for around 18years now and Sarah couldn't see herself anywhere else now.
Bianca
We are so excited that Bianca has returned.
Bianca our other Master Stylist, has been in this industry for over 20yrs and bring a wealth of knowledge to our Team.
Moved here form NZ in 2024 with her family. She enjoys going to the beach and exporting local attractions in her time off
Charlotte
Charlotte is our emerging stylist. She has always been passionate about hair and it shows in her work.
Charlotte takes Clients for many services now, from Braiding, Foils, Cuts, Styling & Sets.
Ziarha
Ziahra is one of our second year apprentices. she will welcome you into the salon with a beautiful smile and lovely complimentary head and shoulder massage.
You might even be lucky enough for her to pop on your colour for one of our seniors.
