Meet Our Team

Melissa started her hair journey in Kalamunda where she did her apprenticeship, also working in NSW for a couple of years, before returning home. 

A Style A Head was established in 2009, when Melissa felt the need to work around her growing family. Friends and Family who enjoyed coming to a quiet private salon space away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life soon grow into many clients from all over Perth. 

Since then it has grown from strength to strength, from Lesmurdie to High Wycombe, Maida Vale and now located in Gooseberry Hill, Clients coming from many Perth locations this Hills Boutique Salon offers many hair services including Cutting, Foiling, Colours, Creative Colours, Bridal Hair, & Styling, all while being a part of the Sustainable Salon program recycling over 95% of our waste.

Having been in the industry for since 1997 it has been amazing to share with  clients their different milestones, watching changing fashion, developing new techniques, and growing as a person. 

Jaqueline has been hairdressing for over 25years now and is still as passionate about it as when I first met her. We did our apprenticeship together in Kalamunda, so you may recognise her when you pop in next. She is a great hairdresser!

Jaqueline travelled to London for work before returning home, she has also lived and worked down South, along the way Jaqueline also trained in makeup. We have done several Weddings together over the years. 

At the moment Jaqueline is available 1 to 2 days a week. In her spare time she takes care of her 3 gorgeous boys, who love to go fishing. 

Jo Anne started hairdressing over 25 years ago. Once Jo finished her apprenticeship in Kalamunda she started her travels, working in places like Brisbane, Whitsundays, Darwin, Ireland (doing hair for TV show there), London. 

After 12years in the industry Jo decided to go back to study in Drug and Alcohol Counselling, which took her on more travels, where she met her husband. They have traveled all over Australia. During this time she teamed up with an organisation that was training women in Bangladesh to be hairdressers and get out of poverty cycle. Funding was provided to be able to do the same thing here for indigenous women in the town Jo was living.  Amongst all this travel Jo Anne and her husband also had 5 beautiful children. 

She has recently returned to Gooseberry Hill, which I am so excited about, because she has been able to join the team. She is an asset to us. 

Courtney started her apprenticeship with us in May, we are so happy to have her be part of the team. She is really keen to learn all she can from everyone. 

Before she started with us Courtney worked as a Beautician for around 15 years, but had always wanted to add hairdressing to her skill list.

In her spare time Courtney can usually be found riding horses with her daughters or catching up with friends.
